Graduate Trainee Program

EGA’s National Graduate Trainee Program is an approximately 18-month development programme designed to prepare graduates for target roles and future first-line supervisory responsibilities. Engineering graduates are preferred, while graduates from other disciplines may be considered according to organisational needs. Each participant receives a customised development plan combining on-the-job training, technical development, management and leadership competency building, departmental familiarisation and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete the approximately 18-month graduate development programme and its structured learning activities.
• Follow a customised development plan aligned with the participant’s target position.
• Undertake technical skills development and management and leadership competency training.
• Complete an initial departmental familiarisation period to understand section functions and responsibilities.
• Participate in on-the-job training focused on the target position for the remainder of the programme.
• Work with an assigned mentor and participate in regular progress-review meetings.
• Develop practical, leadership and supervisory competencies required for the targeted role.
• Move into the target position after successfully completing the programme, subject to the programme’s requirements.

Requirements

• Graduate from a college or university.
• Preference is given to graduates in engineering, while other disciplines may be considered according to organisational requirements.
• Interest in developing practical, technical, leadership and supervisory capabilities.
• Ability to participate in structured on-the-job training and regular progress reviews.
• UAE National, as the programme is described as an initiative to develop high-potential UAE Nationals.

Programme Structure

The Graduate Trainee Program is designed to build a pipeline of high-potential UAE National graduates for future leadership responsibilities at EGA. Participants receive individual development plans and are assigned mentors, with regular reviews to track progress. The programme begins with departmental familiarisation so that trainees understand how the relevant sections operate before moving into targeted on-the-job development. Engineering graduates receive preference, although other disciplines may be considered according to organisational requirements. Successful participants are expected to progress into their target roles after completing the programme.
