Process Safety Advisor

Job Overview

ENOC is seeking a senior Process Safety Advisor to support the development and implementation of a robust Process Safety Management (PSM) and risk-management framework. The role focuses on process safety assurance, operational excellence, risk reduction, incident investigation, audits, training and integration of process safety requirements across projects and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Process Safety Management framework and align it with ENOC's Group Environment, Health, Safety and Quality management system.
• Develop process-safety KPIs and monitor performance and assurance activities.
• Design and deliver training covering PSM, risk assessment, JSA, PHA, Management of Change, emergency response and incident investigation.
• Lead or support industrial and process incident investigations and root-cause analyses using structured methodologies such as TapRooT.
• Participate in FRA, SIL, EERA, MOC and HAZOP studies for projects, modifications and operational activities.
• Develop and maintain audit tracking systems and ensure findings from audits, incident investigations and committee reviews are closed effectively.
• Maintain and align emergency response plans and fire pre-incident plans, and participate in drills and tabletop exercises.
• Establish and sustain Management of Change processes, including Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.
• Support facility siting, mechanical and technical integrity assurance and process safety reviews.
• Act as the process-safety focal point for operational risk-management activities and regulatory compliance.
• Develop standards, procedures, specifications, guidelines and assurance plans aligned with operational excellence principles.
• Work closely with operations, maintenance, projects and leadership to strengthen process-safety culture and influence risk-management decisions.
• Ensure process-safety requirements are incorporated into capital projects from concept and design through commissioning.
• Monitor safety barriers and safety-critical elements and provide assurance using appropriate performance indicators.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 20 years of industrial experience in the petroleum industry, including at least 10 years developing, leading, implementing and sustaining process-safety and risk-management programs.
• Proven experience with process-plant operations and/or process engineering is highly desirable.
• Professional certifications or diplomas in EHSQ, process safety or risk management.
• Strong knowledge of international EHS, process-safety codes, standards and industry best practices.
• Ability to develop and implement process-safety policies, procedures, standards and assurance programs.
• Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Strong transformation and change-management capability with the ability to influence stakeholders at different organizational levels.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and project-management tools.
