Description

Manage credit risk across a portfolio of large and complex corporate borrowers, with a focus on trade-finance transactions. The Credit Manager is responsible for due diligence, underwriting, approval, monitoring, collections and recoveries while ensuring decisions remain consistent with policy and regulatory requirements. The role requires strong financial analysis, commercial judgement and the ability to identify risks early and guide colleagues toward practical mitigation actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed credit due diligence covering management quality, financial strength, industry conditions and business risk.
  • Assess credit exposure across receivables and payables financing, import/export finance, factoring and inventory finance.
  • Review commodity trade, buy-sell and funded or unfunded risk-participation transactions.
  • Analyse financial statements, early-warning indicators, collections performance and portfolio trends.
  • Identify credit and operational risks in transaction structures and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor portfolio exposure and drive appropriate mitigation, remediation, collections and recovery actions.
  • Review term sheets and loan-related documentation with borrowers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with risk consultants, recovery agents, insurers, brokers and other external providers.
  • Ensure credit decisions and portfolio management follow internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance to other team members and maintain a proactive, commercially aware approach to risk.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of credit-risk experience in lending to large corporates.
  • Background in banking, fintech or non-bank financial institutions is preferred.
  • Strong trade-finance credit-risk knowledge and understanding of cross-border transactions.
  • Advanced financial analysis and ability to identify, assess and mitigate complex credit risks.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgement, adaptability and a proven record in credit and risk management.
