MCV Draftsman

The MCV Draftsman prepares technical drawings and documentation that support multi-purpose vessel operations and marine project cargo movements. The role translates engineering information and project requirements into clear drawings for stowage, sea-fastening, lashing, steelwork, mooring, ramps and vessel arrangements. The draftsman works with technical engineers and commercial or operations teams to ensure that drawings are practical, consistent and suitable for the planned marine activity. The position may also support vessel modifications, load-in and load-out planning and the development of standard drawing templates and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project specifications and vessel information and prepare suitable marine drawings for multi-purpose and project-cargo operations.
• Produce stowage, sea-fastening, lashing and steelwork drawings using AutoCAD 2D and relevant drafting standards.
• Develop drawings and simulations for mooring arrangements, ramps, berthing, load-in and load-out sequences.
• Support fabrication and engineering teams with clear drawings, revisions, material details and technical documentation.
• Assist technical engineers with vessel modifications, arrangement reviews and project-specific design requirements.
• Help maintain drawing templates, file standards and procedures to improve consistency and document control.
• Coordinate with project, commercial and operational teams to meet agreed drawing schedules and resolve design comments.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A diploma or certificate in Drafting, Technical Drawing or Marine Drafting.
• At least three years of drafting experience in heavy lift, marine or vessel-related work.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and technical drawing practices.
• Exposure to marine vessels, barges, offshore units, Ro-Ro operations or marine transport is desirable.
• Rhino experience is an advantage; familiarity with barge management or marine transport operations is beneficial.
