Network Security Engineer

University Hospital Sharjah is seeking a Network Security Engineer to strengthen the security and resilience of its technology environment. The role covers cybersecurity engineering across networks, systems, endpoints, cloud platforms and connected environments. The successful candidate will monitor threats, investigate security events, manage vulnerabilities and access controls, support incident response, and help ensure that technology services meet applicable security and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain cybersecurity controls across networks, systems, endpoints and cloud environments.
• Monitor security alerts and investigate suspicious activities using SIEM and other security technologies.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analysis and remediation tracking.
• Support incident response, investigation, root-cause analysis and reporting.
• Implement identity and access controls, including IAM, MFA and privileged access management.
• Protect servers, endpoints, virtualization, VDI and IoT environments.
• Support cloud security configuration and security-posture management.
• Maintain compliance with cybersecurity frameworks, policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Develop security procedures, technical documentation and operational standards.
• Work with IT, application and business teams to incorporate security into technology solutions.
• Configure and manage firewalls, switches, routers, access points and network access-control technologies.
• Coordinate network hardware and software upgrades, patching and maintenance, including Avaya unified communications systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security or IT security.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise security tools and platforms.
• Relevant certifications such as CEH, Security+, CISSP, CISM, CCSP or cloud-security certifications are preferred.
• Healthcare, government or finance experience is an advantage.
