Description
The Lifting Supervisor (LEEA Appointed Person) plans, coordinates and supervises lifting operations on construction sites in Dubai. The position ensures that lifts are properly assessed, planned and carried out in line with approved procedures, equipment capacities and applicable safety requirements. It involves close coordination with crane operators, riggers, site managers and lifting teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise and control lifting operations and confirm that the sequence is safe and suitable for site conditions.
- Prepare and review lifting plans, risk assessments and method statements for lifting activities.
- Interpret crane load charts and perform load calculations to check safe lifting capacities.
- Coordinate crane operators, riggers and site teams and conduct pre-lift briefings or toolbox talks.
- Verify that lifting equipment and accessories are certified, inspected and suitable for use.
- Monitor operations, stop unsafe activities and maintain lifting records and inspection documentation.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Qualification requirement: LEEA Appointed Person competence.
- Demonstrated competence as a LEEA Appointed Person is central to the role.
- Practical experience planning and supervising lifting operations on construction or infrastructure sites is required.
- The candidate should understand crane load charts, lifting accessories and load calculations.
- Knowledge of risk assessments, method statements and lifting regulations is important.
- Clear communication, leadership and a strong safety focus are essential.
Skills and Competencies
The supervisor needs strong lifting-plan preparation, risk assessment and site coordination skills. Sound judgement, attention to equipment certification and the ability to brief teams clearly are important.
