Description

University Hospital Sharjah is looking for an Anaesthesia Technician to support safe and efficient operating-room services. The role focuses on preparing, checking and maintaining anaesthesia equipment, medications and consumables before procedures and ensuring that operating rooms are properly equipped for scheduled cases. The successful candidate will work closely with anaesthesiologists, nurses, technicians and other clinical staff while following infection-control, medication-control and patient-safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect anaesthesia machines, equipment, carts and related supplies before clinical use.
  • Review operating-room schedules and prepare equipment and consumables according to procedure and patient requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of anaesthesia medications and consumables.
  • Clean and prepare equipment after procedures and dispose of contaminated materials according to infection-control standards.
  • Restock operating rooms and request supplies when required.
  • Follow controlled-medication procedures, documentation requirements and shift handover protocols.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and coordinate receipt and organization of supplies.
  • Check medication and consumable expiry dates and maintain clean, organized storage areas.
  • Support departmental activities, training, continuing education and professional development.
  • Communicate effectively with consultants, specialists, nurses and other members of the operating-room team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant required qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • MOH registration.
  • Valid BLS certification.
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including hospital information systems, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to collect, maintain and analyze operational information.
