Synthetic Flight Examiner (Ground) Airbus

The Synthetic Flight Examiner (Ground) – Airbus role delivers simulator-based checking and assessment rather than line flying. The examiner conducts type-rating and recurrent checks, evaluates pilot performance, supports instructor assessments and maintains consistent training and licensing standards across the applicable Airbus fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct approved simulator proficiency checks, skill tests and assessments in line with applicable requirements.
• Evaluate pilot performance objectively and document results in the designated reporting system.
• Deliver or support ground-school, type-rating, recurrent and recency training activities.
• Identify performance gaps, recommend remedial training and discuss outcomes professionally with trainees.
• Contribute observations that improve course content, simulator sessions and training standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Have held an Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
• At least 1,500 hours on multi-pilot aeroplanes.
• At least six months of active TRI/SFI experience and a valid applicable SFI/TRI certificate.
• Meet applicable regulatory, recency, medical and company approval conditions.

• Sound technical knowledge of Airbus procedures and training standards.
• Objective assessment, judgement and clear written reporting.
• Strong communication, leadership and trainee feedback skills.
