Maternal & Fetal Medicine Physician

Job Overview

NMC Healthcare is seeking a Maternal and Fetal Medicine Physician to provide specialist obstetric and gynecologic care across inpatient, outpatient, emergency and delivery settings. The physician will manage routine and complex maternal-fetal cases, participate in planned and emergency procedures, interpret ultrasound and fetal monitoring results, provide consultations and coordinate care with midwives and other clinical teams. The role requires strong clinical judgment, patient communication and adherence to professional and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional Maternal and Fetal Medicine services to eligible patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provide surgical and clinical care for obstetric and gynecologic conditions, including emergency and planned procedures.
• Cover the delivery room, including patient admission, history review, assessment, care planning and delivery management.
• Perform spontaneous and operative deliveries as appropriate to training, privileges and clinical requirements.
• Work closely with midwives and other members of the maternal care team.
• Respond promptly to emergency consultation requests and provide appropriate specialist assessment.
• Provide outpatient consultations and follow-up through assigned clinics.
• Perform and interpret ultrasound examinations in hospital and outpatient settings.
• Interpret fetal heart-rate monitoring and initiate appropriate clinical action when required.
• Provide formal and informal consultations to physicians from other departments.
• Communicate with patients and families regarding clinical condition, changes, treatment plans and expected care.
• Participate in departmental meetings and professional activities as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved medical school followed by internship.
• Three-year residency in Maternal and Fetal Medicine culminating in a postgraduate master's degree and/or equivalent fellowship approved by the Department of Health.
• Five or more years of exclusive Obstetrics and Gynecology practice after certification, as stated in the vacancy.
• Valid Department of Health license to practice as a Maternal and Fetal Medicine physician.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Basic knowledge of medical Arabic is desirable.
• Thorough understanding of medical ethics and professional conduct.
