Senior Registered Nurse – Endoscopy

Job Overview

NMC Healthcare is looking for a Senior Registered Nurse to support safe and effective patient care within the Endoscopy service. The position involves comprehensive assessment, individualized care planning, preparation for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, medication and treatment administration, patient monitoring and collaboration with physicians and allied health professionals. The nurse will also contribute to patient education, clinical documentation, safety and continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate patient care while offering education, advice and emotional support to patients and families.
• Assess patient needs and implement, monitor and evaluate prescribed medical and nursing care plans.
• Work closely with gastroenterologists, physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in the endoscopy environment.
• Conduct systematic assessments and reassessments and use clinical findings to support appropriate nursing decisions.
• Monitor vital signs and recognize, manage and promptly escalate abnormalities.
• Prepare patients for examinations, endoscopic procedures and treatments according to established protocols.
• Administer medications, IV fluids and blood products safely and monitor patients for therapeutic effects or adverse reactions.
• Interpret relevant diagnostic and laboratory information within the nursing scope of practice.
• Maintain current competency in BLS and other life-support procedures relevant to the clinical setting.
• Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures as required.
• Provide wound assessment and wound-care management where clinically indicated.
• Facilitate safe admission, transfer and discharge and ensure complete clinical documentation.
• Use electronic medical records and maintain accurate patient information.

Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse license from the relevant healthcare regulatory authority.
• All qualifications and experience required for professional nursing licensure.
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, organization and patient-safety skills.
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Good administrative and documentation skills, including familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Flexibility to work across departments when required.
