Family Medicine Specialist

Job Overview

NMC Healthcare is hiring a Family Medicine Specialist to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered primary care to individuals and families across different age groups. The role covers assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up for acute and chronic conditions, preventive healthcare, patient education and coordination with specialist services. The physician will contribute to quality improvement, patient safety and clinical governance while maintaining accurate records and compliance with UAE healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat and follow up patients across a broad range of age groups.
• Manage acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions in a primary-care setting.
• Conduct routine health assessments, preventive screenings and wellness consultations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and provide clear medical advice and education.
• Manage common family medicine conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, respiratory illnesses, infections and other chronic diseases.
• Promote preventive care, healthy lifestyles and appropriate patient self-management.
• Refer patients to relevant specialists when required and coordinate continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with nurses, specialists and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality-improvement and patient-safety initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and professional standards.
• Maintain ongoing professional development and clinical knowledge.

Requirements

• MD, MBBS or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
• Specialty qualification in Family Medicine recognized by the relevant UAE healthcare authority.
• Valid DOH, DHA or MOHAP license or eligibility, as applicable.
• Relevant post-specialization experience in Family Medicine or Primary Care.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a diverse patient population independently and appropriately refer complex cases.
• Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
