Staff Nurse ER

University Hospital Sharjah is seeking a Staff Nurse for its Emergency Room team. This position is responsible for delivering timely, safe and ethical nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of urgent and emergency conditions. The nurse will assess patient needs, participate in triage, implement individualized care plans, support emergency interventions and coordinate with physicians and other clinical professionals to maintain a smooth patient-care journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients and prioritize care using the approved emergency triage system.
• Plan, implement and evaluate nursing care based on patient condition and treatment requirements.
• Assist physicians with examinations, procedures and emergency interventions.
• Provide resuscitation support when required and respond appropriately to changing patient conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications safely, including controlled medicines within professional scope.
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses and care from admission through discharge.
• Provide appropriate health education and communicate clearly with patients and families.
• Apply infection prevention measures and international patient-safety practices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and advocate for patient needs.
• Support junior and auxiliary staff through appropriate delegation and guidance.

Requirements

• BSc Nursing or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution with a minimum three-year study duration.
• At least 2 years of post-graduation experience, including 1 year in Emergency Room nursing.
• Valid BLS certification.
• Advanced Life Support and PALS certification are desirable.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency environment.
