Description
Qatar Airways is recruiting an Aircraft Mechanic – Welder for a Doha workshop. The role carries out approved repair and workshop activities using recognised technical instructions, with particular attention to specialist welding on aircraft components. Work must meet aviation quality, safety and airworthiness requirements and be completed within assigned timeframes.
All work must remain within approved instructions and assigned authority. Accurate records, tool control, safe work practices and early escalation of defects help protect airworthiness, component traceability and workshop quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assigned workshop tasks in accordance with approved technical data and company procedures.
- Apply TIG welding techniques to suitable aluminium, titanium, nickel and steel alloys on aircraft components.
- Operate and maintain welding equipment and use resistance spot-welding techniques where required.
- Interpret maintenance data and repair instructions before starting work and seek clarification when needed.
- Inspect completed work, report defects and maintain proper workshop housekeeping and tool control.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while respecting safety standards and quality requirements.
Requirements
- High school, vocational or diploma qualification with at least 3 years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years.
- Aircraft maintenance or equivalent technical qualification, basic ICAO Type II licensing and relevant trade certificates are listed requirements.
- At least one year of practical experience in a similar technical work area is expected; welding experience on aircraft alloys is essential.
- Candidates should be able to interpret maintenance instructions and follow strict safety and manufacturing controls.
