Description
Qatar Airways is recruiting a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B1) for Heavy Maintenance in Doha. The engineer performs and oversees aircraft maintenance checks and defect rectification within licence authority, supporting flight operations and airworthiness. The role also provides guidance to technicians and mechanics while maintaining strong safety, quality and technical documentation standards.
Engineering decisions must follow approved documentation and licence authority. Clear records, safe task execution and early communication of technical risks help maintain airworthiness, quality and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and perform B1 maintenance activities in line with approved manuals and engineering instructions.
- Supervise or guide technicians and mechanics and confirm the use of correct tools and methods.
- Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks and rectify defects within authorised scope.
- Ensure maintenance records and release documentation meet the applicable company and regulatory requirements.
- Set work priorities and help allocate team resources to meet planned maintenance targets.
- Raise technical or safety concerns quickly and support process improvements where appropriate.
Requirements
- High-school, vocational qualification or diploma with at least 5 years of job-related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years.
- An aircraft-maintenance diploma, vocational qualification or aircraft-engineering degree is required.
- A full Qatar Airways main-fleet ICAO/QCAA licence and approvals are required for the role.
- Candidates should be able to delegate tasks, coach staff, interpret maintenance instructions and work within aviation legislation.
