Description
Qatar Airways is recruiting an Aircraft Mechanic for its Engine Shop in Doha. The role supports scheduled and unscheduled engine and auxiliary power unit maintenance, including assigned borescope-support tasks, within the facility’s approved capability and work scope. It requires careful use of current technical data and consistent attention to safety, housekeeping and maintenance quality.
All work must remain within approved instructions and assigned authority. Accurate records, tool control, safe work practices and early escalation of defects help protect airworthiness, component traceability and workshop quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled engine or APU maintenance tasks under the direction of an engineer or supervisor.
- Support borescope inspections and other engine-facility work within the approved scope and level of training.
- Use current maintenance documentation and become familiar with the company systems used to access technical instructions.
- Report unfamiliar tasks, defects or unexpected findings promptly and request guidance when required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, safety practices and housekeeping according to company policy.
- Support component removal, installation and related maintenance activities when assigned and authorised.
Requirements
- A diploma in aircraft maintenance, trade or vocational aircraft-maintenance qualification, or a relevant engineering degree.
- A basic ICAO Type 2 licence and at least 5 years of aircraft-maintenance experience, including apprenticeship, are listed.
- Experience with airline fleet engine maintenance, engine modules, removal or installation, and borescope support is useful.
- Experience with engines such as V2500, Trent, GE90, GEnx or GP7000 may be advantageous depending on work scope.
