Aircraft Mechanic – Heavy Maintenance

Qatar Airways is recruiting an Aircraft Mechanic for Heavy Maintenance in Doha, Qatar. The role supports aircraft maintenance checks and production requirements by completing assigned technical work against approved maintenance data, company procedures and applicable aviation regulations. The mechanic helps keep aircraft and components serviceable while meeting required safety, quality and turnaround standards.

All work must remain within approved instructions and assigned authority. Accurate records, tool control, safe work practices and early escalation of defects help protect airworthiness, component traceability and workshop quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance tasks using approved aircraft maintenance manuals, engineering orders, technical publications and authorized data.
• Assist with inspections and operational tests of aircraft systems, structures and components under the direction of licensed engineers.
• Use approved tools, test equipment and measuring devices to adjust, align, calibrate and functionally check systems where assigned.
• Record completed work accurately and report defects, unusual findings or any uncertainty before work proceeds.
• Support maintenance supervisors and engineers in meeting production plans without compromising safety, quality or regulatory compliance.
• Follow human-factors practices, workplace safety rules and approved processes during all maintenance activities.

Requirements

• High school, vocational qualification, diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years.
• Aircraft maintenance education or equivalent technical training is relevant to the position.
• Practical familiarity with aircraft maintenance data, workshop or hangar procedures and aviation safety expectations is important.
• Candidates should be able to demonstrate reliable record keeping, sound technical judgment and a willingness to work to planned maintenance timelines.
