Aircraft Mechanic – Calibration Lab (Workshops)

Qatar Airways is recruiting an Aircraft Mechanic for the Calibration Lab within its Doha workshops. The position supports maintenance quality by helping ensure that measuring tools and test equipment remain reliable, correctly identified and suitable for use. Tasks are performed under approved procedures, with careful records and strict attention to traceability and safety.

All work must remain within approved instructions and assigned authority. Accurate records, tool control, safe work practices and early escalation of defects help protect airworthiness, component traceability and workshop quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Support inspection and calibration-related activities for tools, gauges and measuring equipment assigned to the laboratory.
• Follow approved technical instructions, equipment procedures and applicable workshop quality controls.
• Check equipment identification, condition and calibration status before items are returned to service.
• Maintain clear documentation to support traceability, audit readiness and accurate equipment records.
• Report out-of-tolerance findings, damage or missing information to the supervisor for appropriate action.
• Maintain orderly work areas and handle equipment carefully to protect measurement accuracy and reliability.

Requirements

• A relevant high-school, vocational or diploma qualification with practical technical experience is expected.
• Aircraft-maintenance training, recognised aeronautical certificates and a basic ICAO Type II licence are commonly listed for comparable workshop roles.
• Experience with measuring instruments, calibration processes or a technical laboratory is an advantage.
• Candidates should be comfortable following controlled procedures and keeping accurate records.
