GEN. MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN II

Perform skilled maintenance, repair and overhaul of rotating equipment and routine maintenance of static equipment across refinery process units and utilities. The role protects equipment reliability and plant availability while following approved maintenance procedures and safe-work requirements.

The role requires collaboration across relevant teams, accurate documentation and early escalation of risks that may affect safety, quality or delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and overhaul of pumps, steam and gas turbines, compressors and other rotating machinery.
• Perform routine mechanical work on static equipment within refinery, tank-farm, utility and offsite areas.
• Diagnose faults, identify worn or damaged components and verify equipment condition after maintenance.
• Use work permits and maintenance systems to plan, record and close assigned jobs.
• Coordinate with engineers and operations staff to reduce downtime and report recurring equipment problems.

Requirements and Experience

• At least eight years of experience in refinery, oil and gas or petrochemical plants is required.
• Extensive knowledge of rotary equipment, including pumps, turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, is expected.
• English communication at the required working level and ability to work in a multinational team are important.

Qualifications

Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Technology from a recognized institution
