Description
Provide independent civil and structural technical assurance for a power and desalination plant project from early development through completion. The role reviews contractor designs for complex site development, foundations, water-retaining structures, drainage and marine infrastructure, ensuring that solutions are suitable and compliant.
The role requires collaboration across relevant teams, accurate documentation and early escalation of risks that may affect safety, quality or delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify civil and structural design deliverables, calculations, drawings and technical submissions.
- Assess site development, roads, earthworks, drainage, turbine and generator foundations, switching yards and utility infrastructure.
- Review designs for prestressed potable-water structures, seawater tanks, settlement basins and coastal works.
- Develop scopes for geotechnical and topographical investigations and assess resulting reports.
- Support construction-stage technical resolution and coordinate quality, schedule and cost considerations across projects.
Requirements and Experience
- At least 15 years of relevant postgraduate experience, including ten years in power plant, oil and gas or heavy industrial projects, is required.
- Experience with large foundations, prestressed water-retaining structures, marine civil works, FEED and EPIC is expected.
- Knowledge of US and European civil/structural codes and ability to resolve complex issues independently are important.
