Description
The Reservations Supervisor is responsible for the efficient operation of the Reservations department at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi. The role manages room inventory, reservation accuracy, team scheduling, training, quality checks, VIP and executive-office bookings, guest communication and coordination with other hotel departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage room inventory to support occupancy, average rate and revenue objectives.
- Review reservation accuracy, rate compliance, system close-outs and availability.
- Monitor Opera/PMS inventory and protect sufficient availability for high-yield segments.
- Prepare team rosters and submit monthly payroll information.
- Control no-show and late-cancellation charges according to policy.
- Train, develop and motivate reservations staff and monitor performance.
- Participate in recruitment and organize onboarding, on-the-job training and monthly training plans.
- Supervise Reservations Agents on daily duties including pick-ups, commissions and client responses.
- Maintain strong working relationships with other departments and regular guests.
- Update Serenata configurations, offers and confirmation-letter setup where applicable.
- Ensure team awareness of internal credit policy and follow up lost business.
- Monitor reservation email volumes and allocate work appropriately.
- Complete previous-day reservation quality checks and next-day arrival checks.
- Ensure corporate, consortia, individual and DMC correspondence is handled within required service standards.
- Support OTA extranets and manage Executive Office and VIP reservations.
Candidate Profile
- Experience supervising hotel reservations operations is highly relevant.
- Strong knowledge of room inventory, hotel reservations and revenue processes.
- Ability to train, schedule, motivate and manage a reservations team.
- Strong attention to detail and quality-control discipline.
- Good communication and cross-departmental coordination skills.
- Working knowledge of Opera/PMS and related reservation systems is beneficial.
