Refrigeration Technician

The Refrigeration Technician maintains and repairs refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment throughout Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi. The position supports reliable hotel operations by servicing cold rooms, freezers and other refrigeration systems, responding to maintenance requests, carrying out preventive work and following engineering and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain walk-in cold rooms, freezer rooms and other commercial or industrial refrigeration equipment.
• Carry out preventive refrigeration maintenance and routine inspections.
• Attend repairs involving refrigeration equipment and associated electrical control systems.
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and coordinate timely technical resolution.
• Maintain clean uniform and professional appearance before entering guestrooms or public areas.
• Keep plant rooms, workshops and related engineering areas clean and organized.
• Follow prescribed safety procedures and help maintain safe conditions for colleagues and guests.
• Support specialized engineering services for hotel functions, promotions and events when required.
• Identify technical faults and apply appropriate troubleshooting methods.
• Complete assigned maintenance projects and related engineering duties.
• Communicate with other departments to coordinate access, service delivery and completion of requests.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating, maintaining and repairing refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
• Hotel or hospitality experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chillers, refrigerators, freezers and cold rooms.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical faults efficiently.
