Equipment Operator

The Equipment Operator operates airport vehicles and ground support equipment to assist aircraft turnaround and ground-handling services. The position follows airside driving rules, protects aircraft and staff, and completes assigned work under the direction of ground-handling supervisors and the Operations Control Centre. Equipment is operated only after training and clearance, with particular attention to vehicle routes, aircraft clearances and ramp hazards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate authorised vehicles and ground support equipment for assigned aircraft turnaround and ground-handling tasks.
• Follow airside driving requirements, aircraft safety-clearance rules and standard procedures for all equipment movements.
• Carry out Foreign Object Debris inspections and perform wing-walking duties when instructed and appropriately trained.
• Report hazards, near misses, incidents, equipment faults and unsafe conditions promptly to the supervisor or control centre.
• Handle lost property according to airport procedures and maintain the required uniform, grooming and personal protective equipment.
• Learn marshalling and headset procedures and support these activities after the required training and certification.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Good general education and fluent spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Valid UAE driving licence.
• At least one year of driving experience, preferably in logistics, transport, aviation or another 24-hour operation.
• Ability to complete training and obtain authorisation for the equipment and vehicles assigned.

Skills and Working Approach

Candidates should be alert, reliable and safety-focused, with good communication and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Situational awareness, customer-service behaviour, care around moving aircraft and vehicles, and willingness to work shifts are important for the role.

Employment Details

Full-time role at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport. The work takes place in a live airside environment and requires compliance with airport safety rules, PPE requirements and supervisor instructions.
