Description
The Director of Commercial Strategy at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi leads commercial planning and revenue-oriented activity across sales, marketing and related functions. Reporting to the General Manager, the role focuses on national and international key accounts, financial objectives, marketing plans, revenue opportunities, market intelligence and coordinated commercial execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial activity toward hotel financial objectives and sales-team revenue targets.
- Supervise preparation and implementation of the department marketing plan, policies and objectives.
- Develop corporate and travel-trade sales strategies covering pricing, promotion and target segments.
- Manage sales-activity and promotional budgets and monitor commercial performance.
- Track business trends and coordinate yield-management initiatives with revenue leadership.
- Optimize the relationship between occupancy and average room rate and support profitable demand periods.
- Maintain key corporate, group and travel-trade accounts and identify new business opportunities.
- Monitor competitor hotels, campaigns, rates, occupancy trends and market developments.
- Coordinate trade shows, roadshows, sales missions and other commercial events and evaluate their results.
- Develop marketing programs, annual plans, advertising and promotional activity while protecting brand standards.
- Use hotel systems and customer databases, including OPERA, to maintain accurate commercial information.
- Lead and develop commercial talent and coordinate cross-departmental initiatives to support guest and business results.
Candidate Profile
- Senior sales, marketing or commercial leadership experience within luxury hospitality is highly relevant to the role.
- Strong understanding of hotel sales, marketing, revenue and reservations functions.
- Ability to manage budgets, key accounts, market analysis and commercial strategy.
- Sophisticated written and verbal communication suitable for luxury hospitality stakeholders.
- Innovative, commercially aware and culturally sensitive approach to international business.
