Civil Helper

The Civil Helper supports maintenance and project teams with practical site tasks that help keep airport facilities, work areas and materials organised. Duties can include preparing surfaces, moving materials, assisting tradespeople, maintaining cleanliness and following instructions for safe work. The role is physically active and requires reliable attendance, awareness of site hazards and consistent use of protective equipment in outdoor conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist civil maintenance staff with preparation, repair and routine site activities under the direction of a supervisor.
• Move, carry and organise materials and tools safely, reporting shortages, damaged items or other issues to the supervisor.
• Prepare work surfaces and support painting or similar tasks using the required respiratory and other protective equipment.
• Keep the work area clean and orderly, recognising that good housekeeping is an important part of site safety.
• Follow task instructions, safety rules and site access requirements, and cooperate with colleagues to complete assigned work.
• Work additional hours when operationally required and report any unsafe condition or incident without delay.

Requirements and Qualifications

• High school education, diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• At least one year of experience in a similar helper, civil works or maintenance-support role.
• Ability to read basic instructions, follow safety rules and use required personal protective equipment correctly.
• Physical ability to carry out manual work and follow approved material-handling procedures.
