SR. BUDGET & RECOVERY CONTROLLER

Prepare and manage departmental budgets, monitor spending and produce financial information that supports cost control and recovery activities. The position helps the business understand budget performance, maintain supporting records and identify practical actions when actual costs differ from plans.

The role requires collaboration across relevant teams, accurate documentation and early escalation of risks that may affect safety, quality or delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile and maintain budget information, forecasts and cost-monitoring schedules.
• Compare actual spending with approved budgets and explain variances or unusual movements.
• Prepare financial summaries, recovery calculations and reports for business stakeholders.
• Coordinate with commercial and planning teams to validate assumptions and supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate records in relevant finance systems and contribute to improvements in reporting processes.

Requirements and Experience

• At least four years of advanced experience in budgeting, costing or planning is relevant, preferably in oil and gas.
• At least three years in a commercial position related to cost and planning is expected.
• SAP knowledge and hands-on use of Excel, Word and business-intelligence analytics are preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting; CIMA, CPA or equivalent certification is recommended
