Description
Hyatt Place Dubai/Wasl District is looking for a General Technician – Civil to maintain the hotel’s building fabric, architectural finishes and related facilities. The position focuses on keeping guest and colleague areas safe, functional and presentable. The successful candidate will inspect defects, complete repair work and support preventive maintenance so that small issues are addressed before they develop into larger operational problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned inspections and preventive maintenance across walls, ceilings, floors, fixtures and other civil elements.
- Repair damaged plaster, paintwork, tiles, carpentry, waterproofing and architectural finishes as appropriate to your trade.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, including water ingress, minor flooding and building defects.
- Identify structural or recurring concerns, report them to the engineering supervisor and record work completed.
- Use tools, materials and personal protective equipment safely and keep the work area orderly.
- Complete repairs with care and coordinate access so that guests and hotel operations experience minimal disruption.
- Support engineering projects and other reasonable duties assigned by the department.
Requirements
- Around two to five years of experience as a General Technician, Civil Technician, Maintenance Technician or in a similar role.
- Experience in hotels, resorts, commercial buildings, hospitals or other large facilities is advantageous.
- Practical knowledge of common civil repair methods, good workmanship and safe site practices.
Qualifications and Skills
A diploma, ITI certificate, trade certification or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Building Maintenance, Masonry, Carpentry, Construction Technology or a related field is suitable. Candidates should be dependable, physically capable of carrying out practical maintenance tasks and able to communicate defects clearly.
