Description
The Director – Infrastructure Design helps translate master-development visions into coordinated, deliverable infrastructure strategies. The portfolio covers dry and wet utilities, transportation, marine engineering and landscape interfaces. The role oversees design coordination, technical standards, authority relationships, capital planning and design governance across large developments, ensuring infrastructure is integrated, cost-aware and aligned with sustainable long-term operation.
Dubai Holding Land Estates seeks a dependable professional who can work collaboratively, exercise good judgement and help improve results over time. Solutions should be useful, secure and measurable, with appropriate human oversight and a clear understanding of data limitations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate infrastructure studies, design packages and delivery programmes against approved masterplans, project briefs, budgets and milestones.
- Review technical submissions, drawings, calculations and reports, resolving design interfaces and escalating issues that may affect cost, quality or schedule.
- Work with consultants, contractors, utility providers and authorities to progress approvals and maintain compliant project records.
- Assess alternatives and value-engineering proposals, balancing capital cost, technical performance, sustainability and future maintenance needs.
- Monitor progress, risks, changes and stakeholder actions, preparing clear updates for project and senior management reviews.
- Help ensure completed assets are tested, documented and handed over with accurate records, operating information and outstanding-item tracking.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Management or a related technical field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Around 15 years of infrastructure development and project-delivery experience, including substantial senior leadership experience.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary infrastructure teams and large master-planned communities, preferably in the UAE or GCC.
- Strong knowledge of authority engagement, infrastructure contracts, CAPEX planning and consultant management.
- Excellent technical writing, stakeholder coordination and leadership skills; Arabic is an advantage.
