Description
Qatar Airways is recruiting a Safety Specialist (Business Intelligence) in Doha to support its Safety, Risk and Security function. The role manages safety-occurrence data, analytics, reporting and digital tools to help identify hazards, monitor performance and meet regulatory obligations. It translates safety information into dashboards and practical insight for investigations and management decisions.
The role depends on accurate information, clear accountability and timely follow-through. Practical communication, suitable records, stakeholder coordination and a continuous-improvement mindset help deliver dependable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and classify safety-occurrence reports, assess data quality and assign actions to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure mandatory occurrence reports are submitted to Qatar CAA or other relevant authorities within required timeframes.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards and reports using tools such as Power BI or Qlik Sense.
- Build data models, datasets, pipelines and automated integrations for safety and compliance reporting.
- Use Python, SQL, AI or analytics tools where appropriate to support extraction, validation, trend analysis and automation.
- Provide statistical reports and insights to safety leaders and collaborate with operations, risk, security and IT teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent qualification with at least 5 years.
- Aviation operations or engineering experience, including safety and occurrence-data analysis, is relevant.
- Experience with Power BI, Qlik, Excel macros and databases is important.
- Knowledge of aviation systems, ICAO/EASA or FAR rules and safety platforms such as AQD or Q-Pulse is useful.
