Description

The accountant maintains accurate financial records and supports month-end reporting, reconciliations and compliance with applicable accounting requirements. The role works with internal departments to verify transactions, resolve variances and provide timely financial information for operational and management decisions. This position is part of accounting and financial control and contributes to reliable, professional day-to-day delivery. The successful candidate will follow established procedures, maintain accurate information and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve agreed standards.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include the following:

  • Record and review financial transactions, supporting documents and account allocations.
  • Prepare reconciliations, schedules and routine reports for month-end or other reporting cycles.
  • Check invoices, expenses, payments and supporting approvals for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist with audit requests, tax or statutory documentation and follow-up on identified differences.
  • Maintain organised financial files and communicate clearly with colleagues about outstanding items.

A practical understanding of the function, sound prioritisation and timely escalation will help protect quality, safety, cost and customer commitments.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a closely related field is relevant.
  • SOCPA membership is noted as a requirement in the published role details for the Saudi position.
  • At least three years of relevant accounting experience is a useful benchmark.

Candidates should show relevant experience, learn local procedures quickly and meet any required statutory or professional standards.

Skills and Competencies

The role requires numerical accuracy, integrity, organisation and the ability to explain financial issues clearly. Candidates should work confidently with deadlines, protect confidential information and investigate differences instead of carrying them forward.
