Consultant Radiologist / HOD

The Radiologist provides specialist imaging services and clinical interpretation to support diagnosis and treatment. The role focuses on evidence-based practice, professional conduct, patient safety and the accurate documentation of clinical findings. Depending on the post, the successful candidate may also support departmental leadership, medical education and quality improvement while working closely with referring physicians and multidisciplinary teams. Provide consultant radiology care while supporting clinical leadership and consistent departmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional radiology services and interpret imaging findings within the approved specialty and scope of practice.
• Assess clinical risks, support appropriate diagnostic pathways and communicate significant findings through established channels.
• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with clinical governance, quality and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to service improvement, clinical audit and continuing professional development.
• For the HOD position, provide appropriate clinical leadership and support consistent standards across the radiology service.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A recognised medical degree and higher specialty qualification/fellowship are required.
• Specialty registration and current life-support certification must meet UAE regulatory requirements.
• The indexed Consultant/HOD role specifies 3–5 years of Consultant-level post-qualification experience.
