Bits Welder

NOV is recruiting a Bits Welder to support manufacturing and fabrication activities for drilling products. The role involves welding and joining metal components while following drawings, process instructions and safety requirements. The successful candidate will help maintain product quality, prepare parts for subsequent production stages and keep equipment and the work area in good condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out TIG and MIG welding, hard facing, brazing and related metalworking tasks according to approved procedures.
• Read and follow engineering drawings, dimensions, specifications and manufacturing instructions.
• Assemble and position components accurately, adjust welding equipment and secure workpieces before operations.
• Confirm that welding setups are checked by the authorised senior operator or supervisor before production begins.
• Use measuring instruments and inspection methods to check alignment and finished work.
• Perform manual grinding and other authorised hot-work tasks, following the required controls and protective measures.
• Complete basic operator maintenance, maintain housekeeping and support other shifts or production activities when required.

Requirements and Qualifications

A diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Technology, Metal Fabrication or Welding Processes is relevant. Vocational training with around two years of related experience, or equivalent practical experience, is expected. Previous production or light/heavy fabrication exposure is useful. Candidates should be able to understand drawings and schematics, carry out grinding work and follow manufacturing shop procedures.

Skills and Employment Details

Good manual coordination, an eye for detail, safe working habits, teamwork and the ability to communicate in English are important. The role requires compliance with quality and HSE procedures, willingness to learn and flexibility to support operational requirements. Full-time position based in Dubai, UAE.
