Assistant Manager, Special Projects (Logistics)

The Assistant Manager, Special Projects supports operational and strategic initiatives across logistics. The role combines structured problem-solving, financial and operational analysis, stakeholder coordination and execution tracking. Projects may focus on network capacity, cost efficiency, service quality or process improvement. The successful candidate should be comfortable building clear presentations, evaluating data and moving initiatives from initial analysis to measurable operational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Scope logistics projects by defining the problem, success measures, workstreams, milestones and stakeholders.
• Analyse operational and cost data to identify bottlenecks, improvement opportunities and potential financial impact.
• Build spreadsheet models, dashboards and presentation materials that support leadership decisions and partner discussions.
• Coordinate implementation across operations, finance, technology and commercial teams, tracking risks and dependencies.
• Review post-launch results, document lessons learned and recommend adjustments based on performance evidence.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Have relevant experience in logistics, operations, consulting, project delivery or a comparable analytical role.
• Be comfortable building Excel models and clear presentation materials for internal or external stakeholders.
• Demonstrate structured problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple priorities and senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of SQL or Python is useful where it supports analysis, automation or operational reporting.
