Vice President – IT Business Partnering

The Vice President - IT Business Partnering leads the digital and technology agenda for business units and connects commercial priorities with technology delivery. The position helps shape the application portfolio, works with IT centres of excellence and delivery partners, and represents technology in business decisions as well as business needs within IT. Success is measured by the value delivered through technology, the quality of strategic alignment, and the reliability of governance, investment decisions, and transformation execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business leadership to define technology priorities, application roadmaps, operating-model needs, and investment opportunities.
• Own the direction of the business-unit application portfolio and align delivery teams, platform leaders, and external partners to it.
• Lead planning for business systems and transformation initiatives, ensuring proposed solutions support measurable operating and commercial outcomes.
• Oversee project governance, budgets, responsibilities, risks, dependencies, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with group PMO practices.
• Assess emerging technologies, prepare recommendations for senior leaders, and drive continuous improvement of application services.
• Build trusted relationships across business and technology teams and resolve priorities where delivery capacity or operating needs conflict.

Requirements

• Proven senior-level experience connecting enterprise technology strategy with business performance and operating requirements.
• Experience with application portfolio management, transformation programmes, project governance, and senior stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to manage delivery partners, investment choices, programme risks, and competing business priorities.
• Comfort communicating complex technology choices in terms of value, service quality, risk, and business impact.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strategic leadership, commercial judgement, negotiation, and influential communication.
• Knowledge of enterprise applications, integration, delivery models, architecture, and continuous improvement practices.
• Strong financial and operational awareness, including budget planning and benefits realisation.
• Ability to develop teams, encourage accountability, and lead change across business functions.
