Ultrasonographer

The Ultrasonographer performs diagnostic sonography examinations to help clinicians evaluate patient conditions and plan appropriate care. The role follows approved imaging guidelines and regulatory requirements while maintaining patient comfort, accurate records and safe equipment practices. Strong technical judgement and clear communication help ensure that examinations are completed to a consistent professional standard. Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and maintain patient records and imaging-safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine sonography procedures within approved guidelines and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Prepare patients, explain the examination and provide appropriate professional guidance and support.
• Review relevant clinical information and maintain patient records in line with policies and statutory requirements.
• Follow patient-safety practices and support equipment calibration, checks and maintenance.
• Communicate relevant technical observations through the established clinical workflow and work cooperatively with healthcare colleagues.
• Select appropriate examination techniques and produce diagnostic images in accordance with protocols.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Radiology or Medical Imaging and a postgraduate qualification in sonography or ultrasound are specified.
• At least two years of relevant sonography experience is required.
• Candidates must meet UAE healthcare licensing requirements.

Skills and Competencies

• Current knowledge of radiology practices, sonography technology and imaging standards.
• Ability to evaluate sonograms alongside relevant clinical history and information.
• Accurate documentation, patient communication and attention to safety.

Work Setting

This position is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital, and involves regular coordination with the relevant clinical, administrative or operational colleagues.
