Thoracic Surgeon (Cardiac + Thoracic experience is required)

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) is recruiting a Thoracic Surgeon with both cardiac and thoracic experience for its Dhahran hospital. The position provides specialist surgical and consulting services to ambulatory and hospitalized patients across a broad range of clinical complexity. The surgeon will work within approved clinical privileges, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in quality improvement and provide expert care in accordance with JHAH medical standards and applicable professional regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert thoracic surgical care to ambulatory and hospitalized patients within approved clinical privileges.
• Conduct daily patient rounds and perform general and specialized examinations relevant to thoracic surgical practice.
• Serve as a consultant to other medical services for inpatient and outpatient cases and support intensive-care patients when required.
• Provide after-hours responsibility for surgical cases and conduct appropriate follow-up rounds for hospitalized patients.
• Maintain compliance with medical department bylaws, hospital regulations, ethical requirements and recognized accreditation standards.
• Participate in case discussions, clinical conferences, lectures and continuing professional education.
• Contribute to quality-improvement activities and support safe, effective and evidence-based surgical practice.
• Supervise staff physicians and interns and provide appropriate feedback to service leadership.
• Collaborate with anesthesiology and other clinical departments on perioperative planning and patient management.
• Participate in hospital committees and provide recommendations regarding patient management or medical repatriation when required.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with hospital information-release policies.

Requirements

• Graduation from a recognized medical school followed by a one-year internship.
• Saudi or Western Board subspecialty certification or eligibility, or an accepted equivalent.
• Completion of a full surgical residency program and recognized board certification.
• Experience in general and trauma surgery, including at least three years of practice limited to surgery after board certification.
• Two to three years of subspecialty training in thoracic surgery with board subspecialty certification, eligibility or equivalent.
• Commitment to continuing medical education, safe clinical practice and teaching of junior staff.
