MORTUARY TECHNICIAN (مأمور ثلاجة الموتى) الظهران

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) is seeking a Mortuary Technician for its Dhahran facility. This technical hospital role is responsible for maintaining a dignified, safe and hygienic mortuary environment and ensuring that deceased patients are handled according to hospital procedures and Ministry of Health requirements. The position requires careful documentation, chain-of-custody control, cold-storage monitoring, infection-control practices and respectful coordination with authorized families, municipal services and forensic authorities when applicable.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive deceased patients from clinical wards and verify dual identifiers before accepting and recording the body.
• Document the physical chain of custody accurately in the morgue register and maintain required records.
• Monitor and record cold-chamber temperature and humidity and report deviations promptly.
• Coordinate terminal cleaning and disinfection of storage units, hydraulic lifts and other mortuary surfaces using approved hospital-grade agents.
• Apply Ministry of Health precautions, including appropriate shrouding or bagging procedures for high-risk infectious cases.
• Assist forensic authorities with body identification and sample preservation when cases require police or forensic involvement.
• Release deceased patients to authorized family representatives or municipal services according to established procedures.
• Maintain hygiene, environmental safety and orderly operation of the mortuary and cold-storage facility.
• Protect confidential information and handle documentation with accuracy and professionalism.
• Work respectfully with hospital departments and external parties involved in authorized mortuary processes.

Requirements

• Diploma or Associate Degree.
• Valid SCFHS registration.
• Zero to two years of healthcare experience.
• Advanced Arabic and intermediate English language skills.
• Knowledge of procedures, hygiene, documentation and safe mortuary operations.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity and respect for patients and families.
