Technician – Mechanical Maint.

Emirates Global Aluminium is seeking a Technician - Mechanical Maintenance to carry out repairs and maintenance services on mechanical machinery and equipment supporting simple and combined-cycle power-generation blocks and balance-of-plant operations. The role is focused on maintaining efficient equipment performance and reducing production downtime. The position requires practical knowledge of major rotating and utility equipment, strong mechanical maintenance capability, computer literacy and the ability to work safely in an industrial environment with demanding physical and operational conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance repairs and services on mechanical machinery and equipment used in power-generation and balance-of-plant operations.
• Support reliable equipment operation and help reduce production downtime through effective maintenance activities.
• Work with gas turbines, steam turbines, waste heat boilers, thermal desalination and other BOP equipment during maintenance and overhaul activities.
• Apply knowledge of compressors, pumps, cooling towers and reverse-osmosis plant systems.
• Use mechanical maintenance tools and relevant computer systems as part of planned work.
• Follow supervisor instructions and established maintenance and safety requirements.
• Work effectively with maintenance colleagues and participate in shift operations where required.
• Manage work carefully in environments that may involve high-pressure steam, high voltage, arc flash, magnetic fields, noise, fumes, heat, humidity, dust, heights and industrial chemicals or liquids.

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or craft/trade certificate or equivalent.
• Diploma holders require 5 years of experience in a similar thermal-power-plant position.
• Craft/trade certificate holders require 8 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Hands-on experience with GE Frame 9E/9FA gas turbines, steam turbines, waste heat boilers, thermal desalination and BOP equipment overhauls.
• Knowledge of mechanical maintenance tools and good computer literacy.
• Ability to speak, read and write English to a good standard.
• Strong interpersonal skills, assertiveness, teamwork, self-motivation and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
