Senior Engineer, Operations

Lead safe, efficient oil and gas production, processing and export operations across field facilities. The position supports production and injection targets while protecting equipment integrity, process safety and operating reliability. It requires coordination with planning, development, maintenance and project teams to keep facilities operating within approved limits. This full-time opportunity is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, with duties and stakeholder interfaces shaped by the assigned function and asset.

Key Responsibilities

• Review operating data, laboratory results and plant performance against production plans and approved design operating envelopes; investigate deviations and recommend corrective action.
• Coordinate production and injection adjustments with relevant teams, ensuring reliable and accurate reporting of production, injection and export data.
• Identify bottlenecks through field capacity testing, review alarms and operating trends, and recommend improvements to increase availability and efficiency.
• Support planned shutdowns, resource allocation, handovers, start-ups and shutdown-scope reviews so activities are completed safely within approved windows.
• Troubleshoot recurring surface-facility problems, participate in root-cause investigations and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Contribute operations input to design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID studies, commissioning, technology trials, management of change and emergency response activities.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 4 years in the oil and gas industry.
• Ability to interpret operating trends, assess process risks and coordinate technical actions across disciplines.
• Willingness to work with field teams and comply with site safety, integrity and operating procedures.
