Description
Carry out hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and testing of rotating equipment at offshore facilities. The technician supports pumps, compressors, turbines, motors and utility systems, helps commission new equipment and contributes to safe, reliable production through disciplined maintenance and equipment-integrity practices. This full-time opportunity is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, with duties and stakeholder interfaces shaped by the assigned function and asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, blowers and utility packages.
- Diagnose equipment faults and complete repairs such as bearing replacement, alignment, seal replacement and balancing.
- Conduct post-maintenance test runs and verify that machinery is efficient and ready for service.
- Carry out condition-based maintenance using vibration readings, oil analysis and temperature or pressure trends.
- Support commissioning, installation, pre-commissioning, functional testing, punch-list closure and equipment handover.
- Use maintenance records and vendor documentation, maintain safe work practices and share technical knowledge with junior technicians.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 6 years of experience in rotating-equipment maintenance within oil and gas.
- Experience with pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, bearings, seals, couplings, lubrication and vibration fundamentals is required.
- Familiarity with CMMS, preferably MAXIMO, and exposure to commissioning, start-up and shutdown processes are beneficial.
