Professional judgement, calm communication and reliable reporting are essential. The successful candidate is expected to approach assigned work professionally, follow established procedures and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers. Work should be completed carefully, with issues raised early rather than left unresolved.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare clear incident reports, maintain shift records and escalate serious matters through the established chain of command.
- Support checks of security equipment, cameras, communication devices and other assigned safety resources.
- Promote courteous conduct while enforcing site rules consistently and treating guests, visitors and colleagues respectfully.
- Coordinate shift assignments, patrol coverage, access-control duties and handovers for the security team.
- Monitor entrances, public areas and restricted zones, responding promptly to suspicious activity or reported concerns.
- Guide team members through incident response, emergency procedures and communication with the relevant departments.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Relevant security experience, with prior team-leading or supervisory responsibility considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of access control, patrol routines, incident reporting and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to remain calm, assess situations objectively and make timely decisions under pressure.
- Good written communication for logs, handovers and incident documentation.
- Any licence, training or local regulatory certification required for the work location must be valid.
Skills
- Team coordination and situational awareness
- Incident response and report writing
- Calm communication and sound judgement
- Confidentiality, integrity and reliability
Professional Approach
A strong supervisor sets a professional example, supports consistent standards across shifts and ensures concerns are documented and passed to the appropriate decision-maker. Clear handovers and reliable follow-up help the wider team maintain continuity. Candidates should be prepared to explain how their experience, training or transferable skills relate to the duties and how they would contribute to a professional, service-focused team.
