L&D Specialist | Retail | IKEA

Al-Futtaim is hiring an L&D Specialist for IKEA to coordinate and deliver learning solutions across store and regional levels. The position translates business and training needs into learning plans, coordinates classroom, virtual, blended and self-learning activities, supports facilitators and learning resources, monitors completion and certification, and provides learning dashboards. The specialist works closely with Store Management, HR Business Partners, Regional L&D and other stakeholders while supporting mandatory learning, competence development and alignment with IKEA’s brand and culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business and training needs into annual and monthly learning plans aligned with regional priorities and SLA commitments.
• Plan, communicate and deploy learning activities within agreed monthly, quarterly and annual timelines.
• Coordinate end-to-end classroom, virtual, blended and self-learning delivery.
• Ensure facilitators, buddies and learning resources are available and ready for scheduled activities.
• Maintain facilitator and buddy pools and support scheduled learning delivery.
• Promote learning engagement through campaigns, communication and social-learning initiatives.
• Monitor learning participation, completion and certification through learning platforms and dashboards.
• Maintain accurate records and deliver monthly learning dashboards in line with SLA and compliance requirements.
• Act as a learning consultant for line managers, HR Business Partners, subject-matter experts and Regional L&D.
• Support managers with development, performance cycles and individual development plans.
• Contribute to regional and retail learning projects, continuous improvement and sharing of best practices.

Requirements

• Diploma, Higher Diploma or equivalent vocational qualification in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Business or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in Learning & Development, HR or a people-support role, preferably in retail or operational environments.
• Experience supporting learning delivery, onboarding or training coordination.
• Ability to work with learning systems and maintain accurate learning records, attendance, completion and certification data.
• Strong organisation, planning and follow-up skills.
• Proficiency with digital tools and learning platforms and strong stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
