LAB TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST – GENETICS.

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) is looking for a Lab Technology Specialist - Genetics to perform and supervise diagnostic genetic testing in Dhahran. The position supports molecular laboratory operations, quality assurance, equipment integrity, result documentation and the development of reliable genetic testing services. The specialist will work according to JHAH policies and applicable national and international laboratory standards while supporting accurate interpretation and reporting of genetic results.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform molecular and genetic laboratory procedures including PCR, NGS, FISH, RT-PCR and karyotyping, as applicable.
• Identify problems that could affect test performance or result reporting and take corrective action or promptly escalate issues to the Molecular Genetics Consultant or Chief Technologist.
• Document corrective actions when testing systems deviate from established laboratory performance specifications.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient files, laboratory records and individual testing logs.
• Investigate complex laboratory problems, review relevant information and develop practical solutions.
• Maintain quality-assurance and quality-control records, equipment maintenance logs and test results in the Laboratory Information Management System.
• Calibrate, clean and maintain laboratory equipment, replace parts where required and run control samples to verify performance.
• Support laboratory development and reliable diagnostic testing processes.
• Comply with safety, quality and accreditation requirements, including CAP, CBAHI and JCI standards.
• Contribute to accurate documentation and effective communication of laboratory findings and issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Genetics, Molecular Biology or an equivalent medical laboratory science.
• SCFHS classification and a Saudi Ministry of Health license.
• ASCP Board of Certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Completion of structured internship or clinical training.
• Minimum nine years of experience in a licensed medical facility or clinical laboratory, including at least five years involving PCR, qPCR, Sanger, NGS, microarray or molecular pathology.
• Full professional English proficiency; Arabic is not required.
