Field Service Technician (Downhole Service Equipment)

NOV is hiring a Field Service Technician in Dubai to install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and calibrate downhole and related service equipment at customer locations and company facilities. The role requires practical mechanical ability combined with hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills. The technician may support rig and offshore operations and must be comfortable travelling to customer sites and responding to scheduled or emergency service requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain and repair Torquemasters, Jar Testers, Bucking Units and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues using drawings, schematics and diagnostic equipment.
• Read hydraulic and electrical schematics and identify faults on service equipment.
• Perform calibration and functional testing using appropriate tools and instruments.
• Carry out service work at customer locations, rigs, offshore sites and company facilities.
• Ensure all work complies with NOV safety policies, customer requirements and applicable industry standards.
• Maintain service tools, test equipment, assigned vehicles and work areas in good condition.
• Complete electronic service reports and accurately document work performed.
• Participate in on-call support and emergency service response when required.
• Support customer communication and provide professional technical service during field assignments.

Requirements

• Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Approximately 4–6 years of field service or maintenance experience with industrial or oilfield equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hydraulic/electrical troubleshooting capability.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment, precision tools and calibration instruments.
• Microsoft Office and electronic service-reporting skills.
• Valid driving licence and ability to obtain required travel documents.
• Ability to complete customer safety training and site requirements.
