Quality Engineer (O&G, Machine Shop)

NOV is seeking a Quality Engineer for its Dubai machine-shop and oil and gas manufacturing operations. The role focuses on identifying quality requirements, implementing corrective and preventive actions, closing NCRs, supporting vendor quality activities and ensuring manufactured products meet customer and company requirements. The engineer will conduct or coordinate inspections, review material documentation, support audits and provide quality guidance to vendors and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead or support NCR analysis and root-cause investigations and ensure timely closure.
• Monitor supplier first-article inspection status and support vendor qualification and approval.
• Review customer documentation, material test reports and quality records.
• Support calibration and control of measuring and inspection equipment.
• Provide quality support to vendors and internal manufacturing teams.
• Perform visual, dimensional, NDT and other inspections throughout manufacturing.
• Train vendors, QC personnel and machinists on applicable inspection methods.
• Support internal, external, process and supplier audits.
• Identify improved inspection methods and techniques for the machine shop.
• Communicate vendor and location quality issues to management and coordinate corrective actions.
• Support compliance with NOV HSEQ policies and manufacturing requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor and NDT Level II qualifications are required.
• 5–7 years of quality-assurance experience in an oil and gas manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of machining, NDE, welding, coating and heat-treatment processes.
• Experience with premium-thread inspection is preferred.
• Strong RCA, corrective-action, auditing and communication skills.
• ASQ CQE, CSWIP 3.1 or exposure to NOV tools, bits, welding and brazing is advantageous.
