Field Operator

Emirates Global Aluminium is hiring a Field Operator to support safe and continuous operation of gas and steam turbines, HRSGs, potline rectifiers, associated plant equipment and utility services. The role works within a designated operating area under the direction of the Shift Supervisor or Main Control Room Operator. The operator is expected to maintain safe operating conditions, carry out instructions promptly, record routine parameters, report abnormalities and keep standby equipment ready for emergency use. At the Jebel Ali site, the related turbine and boiler operator assignments focus on gas turbines, steam turbines, associated plant equipment and utilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate plant and equipment within the assigned area safely and efficiently according to established instructions.
• Carry out operating instructions promptly and communicate relevant information to the supervisor or control room.
• Take routine equipment and process parameter readings and report deviations from expected conditions.
• Identify equipment abnormalities or operating problems and promptly inform the supervisor or Main Control Room.
• Ensure standby equipment remains available and ready for service during emergencies.
• Support smooth operation of gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, potline rectifiers and related utility systems within the assigned area.
• At Jebel Ali, perform applicable turbine and boiler operating responsibilities for gas turbines, steam turbines, associated equipment and utilities.
• Use operational, communication, planning, teamwork and basic numerical skills when carrying out shift duties.

Requirements

• Higher Secondary School Certificate.
• Four years of experience in a power station, together with two years of desalination-operator experience at PG7 level or equivalent similar-industry experience as specified in the listing.
• Competency across relevant operating areas except DCR operation.
• English capability sufficient to prepare and complete shift reports at an intermediate level.
• Ability to understand single-line diagrams and use IT systems.
• Basic numeracy covering concentration, percentages, unit conversion and rate calculations.
• Problem-solving, planning, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
