Description
G4S is seeking an ELV Presales Engineer to shape technical proposals for security-system installations and integrations. The role translates client requirements into practical designs, cost estimates and resource plans, working closely with sales and delivery teams to make sure bids are technically compliant, commercially competitive and achievable on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate customer requirements into technical designs for systems such as CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, video management and PSIM.
- Conduct site surveys and technical assessments to confirm infrastructure needs, site constraints and installation requirements.
- Prepare detailed bills of quantities covering equipment, software, licences, cabling, installation materials and labour.
- Estimate engineering, installation, programming, commissioning, testing, equipment rental, mobilization and logistics costs.
- Develop technical tender responses, compliance matrices, project descriptions and proposals for RFPs and other bids.
- Identify project risks, including access restrictions and integration complexity, and recommend practical mitigation options.
- Present solutions to customers and internal teams, explaining technical choices, costs and value-engineering alternatives.
- Maintain vendor pricing information and estimation records and improve templates to increase accuracy and consistency.
Requirements and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
- Around 4–6 years of project presales or technical-estimation experience, preferably on large security integration projects.
- Knowledge of security components, network infrastructure, licensing models, installation and commissioning requirements.
- Strong analytical and costing skills with proficiency in Excel and AutoCAD or similar estimation/design tools.
- Clear communication, negotiation and coordination skills, with the ability to handle concurrent deadlines.
