Director of Omnichannel & Retail Systems

A leading international retailer in the Middle East is seeking a senior technology leader to direct retail systems, digital commerce and omnichannel transformation. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director will lead technology teams responsible for store systems, unified commerce and digital platforms. The role will connect technology strategy with the needs of physical stores and online channels, ensuring that systems can support business growth and provide a consistent customer experience. It combines regional technology leadership, delivery oversight, governance and commercial responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the regional technology roadmap for retail and digital commerce, aligning investment and delivery priorities with business goals and global standards.
• Oversee point-of-sale systems, payment solutions, retail applications and integrations with core enterprise platforms.
• Develop unified commerce capabilities such as order management, inventory visibility, click-and-collect, ship-from-store and connected customer journeys.
• Lead digital engineering across applications, APIs, cloud infrastructure, automation and platform reliability.
• Establish technology governance, service performance standards, risk controls and continuous improvement practices.
• Ensure regional solutions address applicable payment, tax, fiscalisation and data protection requirements.
• Manage budgets, strategic vendors and technology partners while building a capable regional team.
• Work with senior business leaders, digital product teams and global technology stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.

Requirements and Qualifications

• At least 15 years of technology experience, including leadership in retail, digital commerce or omnichannel environments.
• A strong record of technology delivery across multi-site retail operations and complex transformation programmes.
• Expertise in POS ecosystems, SAP Retail, order management systems and unified commerce; Fluent Commerce exposure is an advantage.
• Understanding of payment integrations, EFT, retail operations and Middle East regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading teams across integrations, APIs, cloud and digital platforms.
• Commercial capability in budgets, business cases, vendor relationships and service agreements.
• A relevant bachelor's degree; professional technology or delivery certifications are beneficial.

Employment Details

This is a senior regional leadership opportunity based in Dubai. The advertised monthly salary range is AED 40,000 to AED 45,000. Strong executive communication and the ability to influence regional and global stakeholders are important for success in this position.
