Description
Carry out troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, overhaul and calibration of field instruments installed in refinery process units. The role supports accurate measurement, reliable control and safe operation by maintaining instruments in accordance with technical procedures and the direction of the responsible engineering team.
The role requires collaboration across relevant teams, accurate documentation and early escalation of risks that may affect safety, quality or delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, calibrate and repair pressure, temperature, flow, level and other field instruments.
- Troubleshoot instrument faults and verify operation after maintenance or replacement.
- Support installation, commissioning and maintenance of smart instruments and their interfaces with DCS and PLC systems.
- Follow work permits, isolation arrangements and applicable hazardous-area requirements during field work.
- Update maintenance records and report recurring failures, equipment condition and outstanding corrective actions.
Requirements and Experience
- At least six years as an instrument technician in refinery, oil and gas or petrochemical operations is required.
- Sound knowledge of measurement principles, installation, commissioning, maintenance and overhaul of field instruments is expected.
- Knowledge of hazardous-area classification and smart-instrument interfaces with DCS/PLC is desirable.
