The Specialist Physician delivers high-quality assessment, diagnosis and treatment within the relevant medical discipline. The role involves managing patients across appropriate clinical pathways, communicating clearly with patients and families, and coordinating care with the multidisciplinary team. The successful professional must work within the privileges and scope recognised by the relevant UAE healthcare authority.

Key Responsibilities

• Review patient histories, conduct clinical assessments and interpret relevant investigations.
• Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans based on current clinical evidence.
• Recognise deterioration or complications and arrange timely escalation or referral.
• Document consultations, diagnoses, treatment decisions and follow-up plans accurately.
• Participate in clinical meetings, quality activities and professional development.

Requirements and Experience

Specialist-level post-qualification experience; exact minimum should be confirmed against the live vacancy and UAE licensing criteria.

The selected candidate must maintain an active professional licence or eligibility for registration in the UAE and practise within the approved scope and privileges. Ongoing professional development, ethical decision-making and appropriate escalation are expected.

Qualifications

Basic medical degree; recognised Emergency Medicine specialty qualification and registration; valid life-support certification as required by the UAE regulator.
