Pharmacist

American Hospital Dubai is seeking a Pharmacist to support safe, accurate and efficient medication services across the hospital. The position combines clinical pharmacy responsibilities with medication distribution, stock management, patient education and compliance with applicable healthcare regulations. The pharmacist will work closely with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to identify and prevent medication-related problems and maintain high standards of pharmaceutical care.

Key Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions and physician orders for appropriateness, interactions, allergies and potential adverse reactions.
• Dispense medications with accurate labeling, dosage instructions, precautions and relevant patient guidance.
• Provide medication information and counselling to patients, physicians, nurses and other healthcare staff.
• Maintain medication profiles, controlled-drug records, incident reports and adverse drug reaction documentation.
• Monitor pharmacy and ward stock levels, expiry dates, obsolete products, returns, transfers and stock variances.
• Support inventory counts, drug utilization reviews and departmental quality improvement activities.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff and help maintain a clean, organized pharmacy environment.
• Follow DHA requirements, professional ethics, confidentiality standards and hospital medication policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
• Active home-country registration and DHA License.
• Minimum three years of relevant pharmacist experience, preferably in a hospital or clinic.
• Strong communication, computer, organization and patient-counselling skills.
• Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage.
